El proceso de medicalización de la víctima

RESUMEN
Se analizan en este artículo las variables presentes en el proceso de medicaliza ción de aquellas personas que han sido víctimas de una agresión terrorista. La victimología, parte de la criminología, tiene por objeto el estudio de las consecuencias de las agresiones ejercidas sobre las personas por otro ser humano, las características de la víctima, así como las relaciones con el agresor. El concepto de víctima es el de persona que padece un daño por culpa ajena y es el utilizado usualmente en victimología. La irritabilidad, el sentimiento de vulnerabilidad y el revivir el acto terrorista, son los síntomas más frecuentes y, además, básicos para entender los mecanismos psi copatológicos que favorecen la dificultad de la medicalizaci6n y encronizaci6n de los trastornos psiquiátricos en las víctimas.

SUMMARY
This article analyses the variables of the process of medicalisation of those per­sons who have been victims of terrorist attacks. Victimology, part of criminology, is the study of the consequences of attacks by one human being on another, the characteris­tics of the victim and the relationship with the aggressor, The concept of victim is of a person who has suffered hurt not due to his own fault, and this is the definition which is usually used in victimology. Irritability, the sensation of vulnerability and the reli­ving of the terrorist act are the most frequent symptoms and are basic to the unders­tanding of the psychopathological mechanisms which cause the difficulty in the medi­calisation and the exaggeration of the psychiatric disturbances of the victims.
